Composer – A composer is someone who writes an arrangement for other musicians or other media. They have to work very hard for several years as it’s very complex with a lot of rules to understand, time and effort is key to being successful.

Composition – A composition is what a composer creates, it can be a piece of written music or scores, both of which are useful to be performed, for media or for any other purpose that you want really.

Library Music (syncs) – This is where the director, or whoever, can go to the music library and pick out a composition for their film from different categories ,like melancholy piano etc, to include in their movie. Anyone can have their music in one of these libraries, as long as you’re signed to their label, and if your composition is picked then you get royalties for every time it’s played. Adverts use these a lot and you can make a really good earning from one composition, depending on how much it’s being played.

Temp Scores – Film directors use this as a sort of base for their composer to be inspired from and create a similar sound for their movie. Temp scores are only meant to be temporary and be replaced by a composition at some point.
