Corona-Viruses Impact

Industry:

Corona-Virus brought around a lot of restrictions including a rule of not being aloud to gather in groups of more that 6 people, which of course meant no concerts with live audiences. This put a big strain on the industry of course because a lot of the money made within the industry actually comes from the tours the artists do but the virus eliminated that opportunity.

Many people took this time to work on albums and release them to keep general public entertained during the lockdown periods. This also allowed many opportunity for unexpected collabs such as Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber. Corona-Virus also allowed more people to see their favourite artists live performances because a lot of people did live stream shows which were free, like Camila Cabello did one on YouTube.

Course:

Whilst it changed the music industry quite drastically as a whole, we also experienced a different experience in the music course we were being taught. Usually, for the final performance, we have to perform in front of a live audience whereas the time, due to COVID restrictions, we had to be filmed for a live stream instead. As good as it was, it didn’t really give us an opportunity to experience what it will feel like to be in front of a live audience and, for me at least, we didn’t really get to experience the rush of adrenaline that comes as you go on stage in front of a live crowd.

As for class itself, we also had to be very careful of how close we stood etc so it meant that for the lessons, it was more of a watch how I do it and try repeat it instead of playing together to learn because you couldn’t play together and be 2metres, this made it a little harder to learn but it just meant we had to keep going over it to learn it which was still very informative.
