Research For FMP

For this project we were assigned a theme, which was incognito. Incognito is when a person or a object that ties in with mystery/hidden or disguised, for example if a person wears masks or is fully covered this means they were trying to be unidentified.

My idea for this project was to create a animation, since I already had some experience with animations before I decided to create one as my project. The technique I used is called Cel (Celluloid) Animation, this technique is when you draw each fame by fame, however I personally did not hand drawn all frame by frame, so for example, I will hand draw once scene on a paper which then I will turn it into a digital art work which then I proceed to create movement digitally.

In one of source (Animator’s_Survival_Kit.pdf) I have learned many different tips and techniques such a you need to learn the key frames to draw such as a scene that includes walking, you must space out your actions.

This was my try on spacing, if I had the chance to redo it id probably add more movement to the pants.

Another technique I learned to do was called the elongated in between technique, this is when instead of drawing frame by frame they’d use stretches in between to make the technique more convincing.

These two were my tries on the stretching, i honestly don’t think it worked out well, if I had the chance to recreate these id have to be more confident with creating a mess.

The next technique I learned is called flexibility, this is when you draw a human or a anima action, you need to remember where the body joints are and where does it start from.

This was my try for the flexibility, I’m honestly really proud of how it worked out.

My target audience is 10-12 years old, the reason for this is because my colour plates are chosen to catch younger children eye, this will make it more appealing for the children. This is mostly for girls around their starter teen ages.

I took inspiration from a lot of anime’s and manga authors, my favourite kinds of anime’s are about medieval times adventures such as, Samurai Champloo, Claymore, but the ones I take the most inspiration from is Hajime Isayama and Hiro Mashima. Hajime Isayama created manage named attack on titan which later was made into a animation, the story line of this anime keeps you intense all the time and makes you think openly. Hiro Mashima created a manga about magic not only it is entertaining but the fights keep you on edge. These two anime’s were set in medieval time which inspired me to create my own animation in medieval time as well.
