Woodstock 1999

During Woodstock 1999 there were some unfortunate events that occurred.

Woodstock was held in Rome New York and is one of the biggest festivals in the world. It had headliners such as Metallica and Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

A massive issue with the festival is that the temperature was between 80 degrees and 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and water was priced at $4 per bottle. This means a lot of people didn’t have the money to afford a necessary item in life. There was also a 1 and a half mile walk between stages, and when there is up to 100 degree heat and no water that is an issue. Up to 700 people had to be treated for dehydration and exhaustion. During Clown Posse’s performance, he started throwing money at the audience, and when water is very expensive, fights broke out for the money. An easy way to stop all of this is to make the water cheaper, lower the distance between the 2 stages, and the performers to have some common sense.

There was also a truck that just drove through the crowd, which is baffling as how did this happen at a massive festival. An easy way to stop this is for the security to just be better at their job.

There were multiple sexual assaults this happened during the festival. This happened due to the overcrowding that happened, the tickets were capped at 250,000 however there were much more than that at the festival. So it was hard to spot what was going on. This could be stopped by the festival not letting more than the allocated people in.

There started to be riots and violence due to people getting sick of the extreme heat and all the issues. Over 1000 people got injured. There were also bonfires during the Red hot Chilli Peppers cover of “Fire” by Jimmi Hendrix. This could’ve been fixed by just using common sense and not trying to get more money.

All of these issues could be easily fixed, they are all stupid mistakes that if people used common sense.
