For project 5 I have decided to create and release an EP with my band that I worked with on Project 1, Millie and the Floor Gang. The plan was to do this in person and at college. However for the start of this project at least, we will be in lockdown. So recording will be an issue as I don’t have a way of properly recording my drums. However I think it will be a fun challenge as getting through all these issues will be challenging but rewarding. Also lockdown might be finished before the project is finished, which means that some of the difficult parts of creating this EP online, we can do in college, if the timing works out right. My role in this will be being the drummer in the band, as that is the instrument that I play. I might also help with the producing side of the songs, as I have a but of experience with producing in Project 2, but especially in Project 3 as my role was being the producer. The EP will probably be around 4 to 6 songs long, and will be a mix of covers and originals. We might also ask for some hrlp from some of the years 2’s to oversee and help us to make sure we are doing it all right. Also if we have time, we might make a music video for one of the songs and maybe get someone who is doing a media course or something similar to help us with that, however that isn’t urgent.
This relates to the wider music industry as during a pandemic this is how a lot of bands have been making music in the past year. However a lot of bands will have better equipment to do this with, it is still a similiar thing. Releasing music is also a big part of music in general, and new bands and artists come out al the time. So this will be a good starting point for me and the whole band with releasing music becoming part of the music industry.
