The time codes for our performance are 18:22 on the first video until 3:40 on the second video.
Strengths – Musically it is a very strong performance. We made very little mistakes and it sounded pretty tight. Even when we did make a mistake, we rectified it quickly and without making a fuss about it. Isaac also learnt the keyboard part for Back to Black and it sounds really good. For the performance side, Tom’s energy is unmatched and during the show he will get the crowd going and will be great. Also the crowd interaction during Fleabag was really good and will work very well on the show.
Weaknesses – The start of Back to Black was very messy, as Ben’s timing was off. However this was the only musical mistake that we made, and it was rectified very quickly. At the start of our set, Tom said that we were ready way before we all were, which if that happened on the night would be a long awkward silence which wouldn’t be very good. We also all left very quickly off the stage, which if we stayed in a couple more seconds would be a lot more professional and wouldn’t look like we were glad it was over.
For the show next week, there aren’t many things we need to improve. The big one is the just keep it all professional on the night as that will be the big thing that could mess us up. As performing in front of a full crowd will be very different to this mock performance.
