This week we worked on the second song, “Last days of our Lives”. Which is what we have documented our progress on. We have also worked on a third song, which Millie wrote, however that is still in a draft so we decided not to record it.
For the new third song, we have lyrics, a structure and a piano and vocal melody. Which none of them are finalised however, so they are all subject to change as it is still first ideas for the song. The main improvements to the song are me and Ben adding and drum beat and guitar to the song. As well as maybe Ben F or Abigail to play bass for the track. However it is a good start to the song and we know what we need to do next week.
For “Last days of our Lives”, we refined the song and got playing it a lot better than last week. We have gotten the transitions between parts of the song smoother, not perfect but better. Ben also plays his guitar with more confidence, in general we are playing the song with more confidence, which makes it sound better. We have also figured out a temporary bridge, with Ben playing the guitar riff from the chorus, and I play the drum beat from the verse, however I play it with fills and more to the beat, however I just improvise. What we could do to improve is to figure out an actual pattern to play and not improvise every team. Also Ben could figure out a guitar solo for the bridge.
All in all, this week was another good week for progress, we refined Last Days and started work on a new song. For next we need to keep working on the two songs we have, and make good progress on the third song.
