For these 2 weeks, I was ill. Which meant that I didn’t do any work during this time. And during the Easter Holidays I had to work during them, which I should’ve done at least a bit of work during these two weeks. However I didn’t, which means I am even more behind. This has set me back in my practical work by a big amount. By this time in my plan I should’ve completed the track on Ableton and mixed them. However I haven’t even really started the track, just ideas and experimenting on Ableton.
This means I need to reevaluate my project, and what elements I am going to do and what I can cut out, as I don’t have enough time to do the project that I planned anymore. Elements such as mixing, mastering, hybrid drumming etc. Some of these elements will either have to go, or be tweaked so that I can have an end product I am happy with. Going forward I will need to work extremely hard as well as smart to still have a successful project.
What I have decided to do with my project is to simplify it just to making a Funk song. I will be making the track on Ableton, and recording live drums into it. This is because I want the live drum sound that you get from playing an acoustic kit compared to Midi drums. I can also showcase my drumming ability this way. Lewis will mix it for me, then I will do a live performance on the drums to this track at the showcase. This is just a shortened version of my project due to time restraints, however I think it will still be a good end product.
