Ideas

This are all my ideas for this project, as I have quite an eclectic music taste it was quite hard to narrow it down and figure out what I actually want to do and what I can do best. I ended up going with a mixture of the electronic composition and the rock idea. As I would like to create guitar or piano music, that is quite chill and mellow. However as I can’t play the guitar, I will use Ableton to create these tracks. I am thinking of making the tracks on Ableton, and playing some of the parts live and overdubbing them. I could play the bass guitar and drums. I do enjoy EDM and rap music, however they are not the type of music that I want to create at the minute. With my limited skills on DAW’s, I would like to create music in a genre I am more comfortable with and a genre that I will enjoy making more. The name that I came up with was the first that came to my mind, and I think is quite good. ASP is quite easy to remember, stands out and has a personal link to me. The collaboration is still something I am yet to figure out, however vocals are something that I will most likely need help with. I am also thinking of the guitar parts being played live by David.

These are the logo ideas that I came up with. I used Canva to create these. This was my first time on Canva, however it is quite an easy website/software to use. I got these logos by simply searching in “logo” into Canva’s search bar, and it came up with a lot of templates. I then spent some time narrowing it down. I decided that I liked the idea of having initials, whilst also having my name on the logo, I personally think it looks nice whilst also showing the person who it is. I decided to go with the third logo, as I quite like how jagged it is. The other two are nice, but I like how the P is in the third logo; the first one is a bit too feminine and looks like it should be the logo for a hair and beauty salon and the second one is a bit too professional as it looks more like a business card than a logo. I am happy with my final logo.

This is the brand kit that I have made for this project. My logo is on there, with a colour inversion so it can go on both a white and black background. The original is still my personal favourite. The font that I would like to use has also been mentioned in this brand kit. I prefer fonts that are smooth rather than sharp ones. I would also say this font is quite bouncy as well as being quite relaxing and gives off a nice vibe. Some might say that it is an unprofessional font, however as it is for a musical brand I don’t think it needs to look that professional, it just has to fit with the rest of the branding. The colours I will be using are also mentioned. I used a colour wheel to decide upon these colours. I wanted to use yellow and a light blue, and I found out the complementary colours of them two. With yellow’s being purple and the blue’s is orange. I decided that purple would fit a lot better than orange would. There are also some textures on here. I created these using Canva’s AI Image Generator. This works by placing key words into this generator, and then it will come up with 4 different ideas. Some of the words I used were, blue, chill, mellow, indie, yellow, indie music, sad, animals, backdrops, purple. By putting in a different mixture of these words, I ended up with these images. Four of them have a similar vibe as they are colourful backdrops, and I put the animal picture in as I thought it looked quite adorable and I quite like writing about animals, so it could be used in this project. I imagine these to be single covers or a cover for the whole EP. There is also a few potential names for songs/the EP on it. I was going for quite a mellow and sad feeling as well a being introspective and questioning. I personally like these kinds of names, as asking the listener a question or making them think about themselves can make them relate to the track, making them connect with it therefore they have a chance of liking it more. These names or not final, they are just ideas and will most likely change as the songwriting process goes on.
