For this week, we decided to work on a new song, called “Last Days of our Lives.” Tom wrote the lyrics, and me and Ben F (the tutor) wrote the instrumentals for the track.

This week we worked on this song, which is a very catchy song, however there is still a lot of work to do. The lyrics and singing are very good on this track, throughout all parts of the song. Tom and Millie worked very hard on the melody and the lyrics and it shows. The structure of this song so far is, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge. However the downsides are the transitions between each part of the song, as Tom or Millie had to let me and Ben know when the chorus starts, and it wasn’t always smooth. Another issue is that Ben is struggling with the guitar. However he only just learnt the guitar track earlier that day, so he just needs to work on it. Another issue is the bridge, which comes after the second chorus. The vocals sound good, however we haven’t worked on it together, it was just Tom and Millie that worked on the bridge. Me and Ben just need to work on the bridge next session, as well as figuring out what comes after that in the song.
This week was a success, as we came up with a new song, and nearly finished it. The target for next week is to finish this song, and start a third one.
