The set list for my performance is: Recklees, Jolene and someone like you, i’m learning quite a few extra songs incase we want to add anymore.
We decide to do all the songs on guitar because it’s a lot easier than switching instruments throughout the performance. We listened to these songs and changed them up for them to suit my voice more.
My inspirations that have made me want to perform and sing are Little mix because there very empowering , Madison Beer her voice is everything, Carrie underwood her lyrics are unmatched and Olivior Rodrigo she younger than me and made a living out of her music which is amazing. I want to be able to do all of them things whilst I perform and Make people feel comftable.
Here are some clips of their songs:
This is Madison beer. “’Reckless’ was written about how easy it is for some people in relationships to hurt others and move on without any guilt. “People have so much power over their partner’s feelings, yet many still choose to treat each other carelessly.
She opened up about the song in a tweet, telling her followers, “I made reckless in October of 2020 after finding out my intuition is literally always right and if someone tells you not to worry about someone else but your heart tells you should… run.” The singer also addressed “Reckless” in a press release saying “People have so much power over their partner’s feelings, yet many still choose to treat each other carelessly.”
Others may be careless, but Beer definitely cares. That’s why, in “Reckless,” she ends by telling listeners, “Hey / This is a story I hate / But I told it to cope with the pain / I’m so sorry if you can relate.”
I’ve also researched how to cope with nerves on stage and some people do body warm ups or mediation also they get more interactive with the audience to take some of the stop light off them and give it to someone else and helps them feel more comfortable on stage. I will insert a video I’ve been using to help with my nerves:
Here is my favourite cover of “Jolene” its by her god daughter Miley Cyrus:
I love the way she sings it and her tone sounds great on this song which showed me no matter what tone or pitch your voice is you can sing. Also Miley Cyrus is Dolly patron goddaughter. “Jolene” has transcended its origins as a song Parton wrote because a bank teller had a crush on her husband.
Few songs have the ability to transcend genres quite like Jolene, Dolly Parton’s career changing about the beautiful woman threatening to take her man. Even though the song sounds like it’s about a single woman, the story Parton tells is as familiar as breathing to people the world over. The song’s lyrics are honest and simple, and even if no one wants to admit it, they explain a feeling everyone who is or has been in a relationship has felt jealousy.
This song is ” someone like you”
Someone like you was written because of her ex husband. The original song is my favourite version of the song her voice is just so powerful and unique and throughout the song you can hear the emotions in her voice.
Adele and Dan Wilson worked on “Someone Like You” over two days. At the end of the second day we finished the recording, which ended up on the album. She told me she wanted to write a song about her heartbreak that was how she put it. She told me a little bit about the guy who broke up with her, and I think maybe part of my contribution was to help keep the song really simple and direct very personal.
All these songs are different in the vocal range. Someone like you is more powerful and strong whilst also singing with a lower tone and Reckless is higher and quiter and Jolene is more fun and mid range with a higher note on the last Jolene.
