Chanson- Chanson is in general any lyric driven French song usually polyphonic and secular. A singer specializing in chanson is known as chanteur and a women is chanteuse also a collections of chanson more from the middle age are called chansonnier.
Madrigal- A madrigal is a secular vocal music composition of the Renaissance from 15th–16th century . The polyphonic madrigal is unaccompanied, and the number of voices varies from two to eight, but usually features three to six voices, the metre of the madrigal varied between two or three tercets, followed by one or two couplets.
Lieder-is a German word its a word the use for poetry to classic music to create a piece of polyphonic music. This was use more between 14th-15th century. The word went into the romantic poetry during the later 18th-19th century. lieder is often used interchangeably with an art song to encompass works that the tradition has inspired in other languages. The poems that have been made into lieder often center on pastoral themes or themes of romantic love.
