Week one- me and my band mate , Tom and Adam was struggling with the chords for the piano and the drums to put onto the song. We don’t have the guitar in this song because Ben didn’t turn up due to personal reasons .
Week two-we started getting the song together and I was able to play the chords by Tuesday morning and Adam was loud on drums so he need to quite down a little bit couldn’t hear Toms vocals due to Adam playing so loud, Tom vocals sounded amazing just needed to work on the bridge including myself. Ben yet didn’t show up only once this week and got no where apart from learning the cover.
Third week , Tom, Adam and me had completed the original but we have decided to add some harmonies into it and we got told to drop the cover and just focus on the originals we want to write and so we did and due to Ben not being here again we asked Ben the tutor to help us with a bass sound and so far the second original “ last day of our lives “ sounds amazing but in this song it’s just bass and guitar and of course the vocals, we are no working on a third original “visions of the past life “ which isn’t amazing yet but hopefully will be we have started to work on the melody and the beat and chords to the song.
Week Four- me ,Tom ,Adam and Ben got on with working on ” The last days of our lives” none stop and Tom sounds amazing Adam was a bit loud on drums at first but it sounds a lot better and ben just learned the chords on guitar it was stressful at first because he didn’t know them but he picked them up fairly quickly then we got on with it. Me and Tom was working on harmonies. We also came up with another original on Tuesday, i worked on piano chords and ben is using the same chords as me and Adam on drums and of course tom and myself is singing.
Week Five- me and my band was working on sorting the lyrics out to make sure they sounded right and had to make sure everything was on timing because our song “you” was out of timing on toms part it sounded like he was too slow when I was hitting the chord as Adam was hitting the kick drum but Tom sounded he was singing to slow so he sang a little faster and it worked perfectly. We also had a talk what we want to put onto our originals like effects wise. This week Abigail joined our band and did bass for us, was just going to be the one song but she was very good and it sounded good on both songs so she stayed and did our two songs with us.
Week Six- we wasn’t in on Monday but after that we came in and decided we need to have these songs perfectly done so all day Tuesday and Friday morning we constantly rehearsing Ben was working on not stopping if messaging up and so was I and Adam but by the end of Friday we had all perfectly done and I’m very proud of that. We also got shown we’re we will be lip syncing the songs and we talk about the positioning. We also had a photo shoot with the band and one with everyone in our music class and the year above. Week seven -we recorded our originals and everything went so well and we recorded the instruments multiple times on the Monday and on the Tuesday we recorded or vocals which me and Tom did warm ups and we messed about a little bit but when it came to actually recording we got everything done professionally when needed to be. I am very proud of the whole band and especially Tom his confidence has grown.
Week Eight- Millie and the floor gang filmed our songs, it only took us an hour, it was very warm. They played our songs from a speaker and we had to make it look like we was singing it live, it was so fun to do. We also filmed our introduction which was quite funny. Everyone has done so well.
