Community music .

In this lesson we learnt about how people in jail had a club were they can play music to make themselves feel better and it helps with there mental health’s and confidence. It was kind of the same with homeless people were they had a club once a week to help with the communication and which will help them be able to reach out and know they have a voice to be able to ask for help and also people use music in hospitals because it can help people with dementia because if they play a song it can remind them of certain things and they always remember the lyrics it also helps children with different disability’s.

For the passed few lesson we have been planning a lesson for a group we will be teaching what ever we plan for them. We went through three, four plans and then came down to one which is a singing lesson. What we will be doing in that lesson is we will be introducing ourselves and then we will play a game to get them going musical chairs and then count to 21 and also a vocal warm up, which will go on for about 15-20 minuets. Then we will explain the lesson and from there Niall will take a few students and teach them procussion, then me and Lucy will take the rest of the student spilt them into two groups and i will be teaching them the first verse and Lucy will be teaching them the second verse and the chorus will be altogether. So me and Lucy should get them to add harmonise and little solos to give them a bit more of what we do. After doing that our groups will come together show each other what we did and then put it all together. At the end we will be doing a warm down to relax the students.

My aims for this session with our project is to be able to have everything we want to do in time. I hope we get positive feedback and the students enjoy what we are doing. By the end of the session we want them all to have liked of we taught them and carry on doing it.
