I have done research on three types of media to help me gain more ideas on how I want to create and develop my short film. I have used these three to help me gain ideas and influence my film. I have chosen these four films and games because the media can relate to the theme of incognito. The theme incognito is like the spy mystery-thriller genre so I researched media similar to the theme so that I can gain a feel and visualize how I want my film to look like as it is based on incognito. I have watched all of these films and played these games so I know why people enjoy these films and games that are related to the theme incognito.
The primary research I have done is experimenting with camera shot types with a camera to see how I can make a scene look more spy and dramatic like and I have asked my friends what their thoughts are on spy movies and what they look for in spy movies. Some said that they enjoyed the times where the character was close to getting caught or found out in the story and others say how cool the characters look like. For me since I was creating a comedic spy film my film was not going to be cool like normal spy films and the tension rising moments I noted down to try and implement that into my film.
The secondary research I have done is around films and media that have a theme of incognito in them which show mystery and spy like tones in their media help me gain ideas on how I would like my project to be like. The secondary research I have done on these film and media helped me understand what makes them so funny and entertaining like in Johhny English to would be the comedic timing and the sounds that play together in the comedic skits that’s what helps them entertain the viewer.

Analysis of Research Information
Darker than Black is an action thriller TV Show where the main protagonist Hei is an elite contractor working for a syndicate while searching for his sister. The protagonist Hei looks like an average normal person however when he is in pursuit of his mission he puts on a mask and black attire goes to find his target. I like this show and can get ideas from it for the theme incognito because of the main protagonist Hei being unknown to the public eye and that his identity his always hidden. Also Hei is a emotionless killer when on a mission I can link this to incognito and the theme could assume people being emotionless and cold hearted.

Metal Gear Solid is an action stealth game where you play as the protagonist Solid Snake also known as Big Boss who’s in the special forces. Your objective is to rebel against the united states government under the command of Liquid Snake. You need to stop Liquid Snake from creating advanced weapon systems that have nuclear strike capabilities. I like this game because of its rewarding stealth gameplay and the designs for the characters because they have clothes that help them infiltrate places silently and not leaving a trace of evidence. This can be linked to incognito as incognito suggests being unidentified and being anonymous.

The Foreigner is about the main protagonist Quan a humble London businessman who has buried his revengeful past. He seeks justice when his daughter is killed in an act of terrorism. In his relentless search of the culprits he is forced to face the Irish government. I like this movie because of its elements of thriller and action. This movie can be linked to incognito because of how his identity is hidden and people just see him as a normal Chinese man however he has a dark past that is hidden and anonymous to the public eye and goes searching for the terrorists to seek justice.

I have picked this film to use as research for my project because the film is a spy and incognito like however it is a comedic twist so it’s not a traditional spy movie like mission impossible the movie is a take on comedy and incognito which is what I’m looking for therefore I decided to use this movie as one of my references.
