Short Film Production Treatment

A treatment is a document that presents the story idea of your film before writing the entire script. Treatments are often written in present tense, in a narrative-like prose, and highlight the most important information about your film, including title, logline, story summary, and character descriptions. Treatment are often used in the initial stages of idea generation and will be used to support a pitch and sell your film idea to producers or production members.

Title

Angst
Logline

A logline should summarise your film in one, catchy sentence. Loglines are often used as part of the marketing of the film.

Is companionship all what it really seems to be.
Summary

What is your film about? Identify any influences on your idea and discuss the intended genre and style.
Social realism movie where an immigrant teenager has difficulty making long-lasting relationships and has relationship problems with his father after moving to the UK. The teenager enjoys being creative and however, he finds life difficult because of his thoughts about the future of his life. My influences are from seeing other people emigrate to a foreign country and struggle with social cues and jokes of a new country they moved to. The genre of the film is social realism and the film is to highlight what life is like for some people after immigrating to another country.

Influences I have had for my film is the movie The (Stutterer 2015) . It goes through the life of a person who has a stutter and the problems he faces. I like the film because of the structure of the story and the cinematography. The story is written well and has a good ending. I want to create a film similar to this but portray the mental issues people have with immigrating to another country. Like not understanding another country’s culture and it being alien to you.
Narrative

Identify plot points and explain how the story will be told, in terms of narrative structure. (Linear, Non-Linear, Multi-Strand etc.)

The film will start with a few pictures being laid down with the main character Maruf Hussain describing his situation and what has happened until the current point in a voiceover that the audience can hear. we’ll then be shown his struggles of being a foreigner in the country. Next, we’ll be shown what he desires to have a good friendship with his colleagues. He seems to have some success however it’s not what he really wants in the end. Then the film will end with an open question to the audience. The structure of the story will be linear and the events will be shown in chronological order.

Locations I have in mind for the film is the main characters
Characters / Actors

Who are the characters? How many characters will you need? What is the purpose of these characters within the narrative?

Maruf Hussain (main character) the purpose of Maruf is to present the problems he faces to an audience of similar problems to make them question whether companionship is what he truly wants or does he want something more fulfilling, something more similar to having a family-like relationship with people in a foreign country.

Saif Hussain is a person Maruf meets and they get to some level of friendship but it is more like the both of them are colleagues as they don’t talk outside of the school they go to.

(Father Figure) Maruf has a father however he won’t be shown on screen only through Maruf’s perspective and messages sent by his father.

Pitch

The problem I may face with producing the film is capturing audio outside as it will be windy so I may need to do a voice over if I will go through with a scene filmed outside. I’m also worried about if I’m able to film all the shot types in 3 weeks as sometimes not all of us will be available at times.

Typography poster design ideas.

For the techniques we used to create these fonts we used the magnetic lasso tool to create a certain look of the letters and the paint bucket tool to add colour.

This task can help with ideas for the film poster as I know what fonts and typeface to use for the poster of the film. I know different ways to create title fonts for my poster.

I feel like some of these fonts were successful as they show the emotion in the title Angst. I can visualise how I would on the typeface for the poster to look for the film poster.

The Script of Angst has constant new revision in the preproduction phase as things could constantly be changed and be made better so there are many versions
