Another skill needed is self-leadership to the ability to take control of your work and others when needed in order to complete the work on time. The ability to adapt to any situation.

This is my CV I think that it outlines everything that I’m able to do and when sending a CV to a job I will slightly change the wording and put the keywords that they want in bold so that the employers can see that I have the Skills needed for the tasks that they need to be performed on the job.

If possible I would like to do an apprenticeship at a Digital marketing agency or a video editing agency cause that is the field in media that I want to go into. I’ve looked at LinkedIn and gov.uk/apprenticeships. There are many apprenticeships happening around Bradford so I may consider applying to one of them. Because apprenticeships are highly sought after because of the work experience it gives and the on-hand skills it gives because you work in the industry they are very valuable to progress in the career path of the apprenticeship. There is a lot of competition in apprenticeships because of how valuable they are.

A creative agency I would like to work for is a media production agency called Clickbait Media they focus on media production and management company and they specialise in youtube channel growth. They work with content creators like TenZofficial, Kyedae, Subroza and many more creators. I would like to work for them because I enjoy video editing and content creation and creating motion graphics in programs such as premiere pro and after effects.

I’ve always had a passion for film and media because I enjoy creating short films, videos and graphics. From telling a story through film and cinematics to using VFX on different short videos, I like the creative freedom film and media gives me to bring stories to life and create. I have always had a knack for understanding how filmmakers would create different effects and use different shot types to drive a story and keep the viewer entertained and engaged in the film. I’ve watched lots of films and engaged with a range of media, such as notable films like neo-noir and thriller and the James Bond franchise. I also enjoy and subscribe to YouTube videos like Peter Mckinnon’s photography tutorials and the work of Casey Neistat and how they produce videos and films to entertain, inform and educate the viewer.

As a passionate filmmaker, I always liked to understand how content is created and how different processes, techniques and approaches are used in film and video. I enjoy the feeling of watching a piece of media and feeling amazed of getting shivers down your spine from the storytelling the creator has used or the video effect they have used and it makes me wonder how I could recreate that.

In my free time, I like to experiment with different types of edits and VFX in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro. I have an interest in creating stories and creating different types of VFX and motion graphics in film. When we go on holiday or anywhere I always am filming something like scenery or something interesting going on around me to capture footage and see what I can create something aesthetic and interesting in premiere pro and after effects then share it on my socials. When I’m not on the computer during school and holidays I would enrol in drama summer schools and charity fundraisers in the community when they needed help or it seemed like it was interesting to do. I enjoyed the Drama summer school as they talked about how actors should perform on camera and tell you what the camera work would be like and how to perform around it helping me understand how I should talk and communicate with the actor’s performance and delivery of lines.

When I was in secondary school I picked up photography and multimedia and graphic design as I knew it would help me in all aspects of film and media. Photography helped me learn how to use a camera. Multimedia helped me on how to work on preproduction and work with clients and then graphic design helped me learn how to create posters and the fundamentals of graphic design and what intrigues a person to look at graphics. My course at Bradford college UAL creative media and production level 3 further built upon my skills in production and film taught me how to work well with others and how to involve others in projects. I learned a lot from the course such as Sound design and learned more about traditional film and media techniques. In the course, I created a social realism film based around immigration and learned a lot about how to coordinate and produce a short film in time with deadlines. In the Short film, I learned about different shot types and what aspects of the film I should consider when filming such as mise en scene, Diegetic and non Diegetic audio and editing techniques.

My hobbies outside of film, media and graphics are doing Callisthenics socialising with family and friends and journaling. I enjoy doing Callisthenics and exercise as I enjoy performing challenging movements that rely on one’s strength and rely on nothing but your bodyweight. I love the journey towards doing something challenging and slowly making progress then finally completing the move with a feeling of satisfaction.

Interviews do’s and don’ts

When applying for a job and going for a position at a company you want to look as appealing and useful as possible to a company. This is to increase the odds of getting the job and an interview is used to check that you are what you say you are so you need to prepare for the interview.

The first step of applying to a company and passing the interview is to do your homework on the company so that you know their history and their accomplishments so that you are knowledgeable about the company. This will inform the interviewer that you’ve done your research and show your dedication and commitment to apply to the job.

Make a good first impression. make sure you know the ins and out of your CV so that if you are asked any questions on your CV you are not caught off guard. Also, try doing a mock interview with someone whos already been in that position before so that you can practise and any mistakes that come up you can iron out before the interview.

The don’ts of perfecting an interview is to never overspeak the interviewer and not assume it isn’t an interview this interview is not like talking to a friend who may be your future boss so you want to stay as polite and well mannered as possible.

Another don’t is to never falsify information. Answer the questions truthfully because falsifying information will lead to more problems down the road. Falsifying information such as your previous work experience will be detected later on when you are doing the task you have false information on and this may lead to you being fired.

Evaluation

What I’m planning to do is to apply to the FDA film and media course at Bradford college or apply for an apprenticeship in digital marketing because both of these fields will help me proceed into the industry of media and production and would like to have a career in that field. Using the skills and rules I have written about I will use them when applying and working in the media industry.
