I was asked to make a mood board with all the ideas for my film/game i wanted to create, i did this and came up with a total of 12 ideas, I was then asked to narrow down these 12 ideas into 3 ideas, i removed the game ideas as i was no longer planning on making a game and narrowed them down to the 3 i have now.
Idea 1: My first idea consists of a main character who is an alien from outer space, who has been sent down to collect data on the humans who dominate the planet named earth, but there is a catch, the alien was sent down as punishment and was sent down with no info on how humans work or how they function, so the alien is essentially heavily out of place and has to try to fit in with the Earthlings.
The story follows a boy who is actually the alien in disguise, as the aliens look almost identical to humans, it follows him on his journey to become more human like and has a comedic tone as the viewers watch him attempt to do daily human tasks with almost constant set backs and consequences.
The film would be similar to movies like V, a movie about aliens integrating into human society, My stepmother is an Alien, which is a movie about an alien attempting to seduce a human, and What Planet Are You From? A movie about an alien sent down to earth to continue his species.
I chose this idea as much like the following ideas it is doable from an at home environment, as I wouldn’t need many resources of many actors/props due to the nature of the film, all i would really need is what i have at home and perhaps a few friends.
Idea 2:
My second idea was to create a short film about a college student who doesn’t know what to do with his life, it would consist of a student attempting to find meaning in his life and try to find a suitable existance, he would try out different hobbies, tasks etc to attempt to do this.
The film would follow the existential dread that everyone faces at some point, the feeling that nothing really matters and that there is no meaning, it would depict the student attempting to find some sort of meaning in a world full of dead ends and difficult situations, i could even change the genre whilst keeping the premise the same, such as if i where to make it a comedy, making jokes out of something usually serious.
I chose this idea much like the one above as it would be relatively easy to make, whilst also being interesting and captivating, unlike the other 2 this is a realistic scenario which could be relatable to essentially everyone, as everyone has these types of thoughts, some more then others.
Idea 3:
My third idea consists of a pair of friends going on a walk in a forest, one of the pair inexplicably begins hallucinating and losing his mind, this affect isn’t carried over onto the other, eventually it gets to the point where the delusional partner is hunting down his friend in a fit of delusion and hallucinations, the movie depicts the friend attempting to escape or subdue his over friend without killing him, whilst also trying to not be killed.
The movie would be similar to movies like Sleepaway camp and The Burning in the sense that implied violence is something that would be heavily used, and the woods would be the primary location within the film, allowing all sorts of creative camera work and experiences.
I chose this plot as I find it highly interesting and i think it could be entertaining to the viewers, it would also allow me to be creative with the camera angles and shots i can do, as the forest is a vast and wide place many different locations could be shot in, this makes it a lot more interesting and fun to shoot, the movie would only require 2 people and a cameraman, since i am limited to my own equipment as college isn’t open, it would be difficult but doable.
I was asked by Lewis to enter a call with a selected partner, who turned out to be Mohammed Zak to discuss out ideas, we entered the call and after a little confusion of how to record we recorded our session.
Within the session we talked about all of our ideas in detail, he spoke first about his 2 ideas and then I followed by talking about mine, he spoke about his wish to make a voice over on superhero’s, but then admitted it may be difficult to do so, he then proposed his second idea which consisted of making a collage, which would be easier then his first idea.
We discussed the pro’s and cons of his ideas and then we discussed the same for mine, the recording is listed below;

Before I was asked to do this task i was also asked to create a mood board displaying my idea, I did this twice as I didn’t have enough space on one page, I decided to do it on paper as it was easier to do at the time, I listed both games/film/animation etc, all the different avenues I could take for my FMP, evidently I narrowed them down to film as that is what I most enjoy.
As seen above I wrote down all the possible options I could have picked along with accessibility and others.
