Personal Career Plan – Bailey Haggan
Year One – College
For the first year of my personal career plan is college currently im studying at Bradford College studying a Level 3 Extended Creative Media & Production Technology Diploma.
And for my first year of my personal career plan I will use college to learn some more stuff about media and the creative industries and also work on my UCAS application for university and also write a personal statement about why I am interested in studying a film & media course.
Another thing I want to do during my first year is try and get a distinction in my extended course is because when I did level 2 & level 3 media I got a merit and with the work I put I had put in the last two years I felt that I deserved a distinction so for this year I will be focusing on my media work a lot more and not get too distracted as I want the distinction to look good on my university application.
And finally I will be working with the national science & media museum for a collaborative project that involves the BBC Click programme and want to make a good impression and is currently working progress and hopefully by the end of the collaboration I would of made a good impression and this could play a huge part in helping me get a job within the media industry.
Year Two – Year Four – University
For the next stage of my personal career plan is university and I am currently applying for film & media courses and ive also applied for a couple of graphics design courses in case I don’t meet the requirements to do the course I want to do.
If I do get into university with my desired course I will use the three years to plan what I want to do with my projects and use them to create films , projects, tv shows and much more that is related to film and tv with my university course.
And during my time at university I will look for a placement with either the BBC , ITV and Channel 4 and use the placement to learn about how people operate within the TV industry by working behind the scenes , working as a runner or working as a camera operator I want to have placement so I can get the experience of working in the tv industry before I finish with my university course so when I leave I will be able to look for jobs within the media industry and update my CV.
Year 5 – Media Work & Create a production company
For my fifth and final year of my five year plan is once I leave university is to look for media work within the BBC , Channel 4 or ITV ideally I want to work behind the scenes as a camera operator as a tv runner and eventually work my way from there and eventually reach top whether it’s a showrunner , producer or even a director and that is what I want to once I leave university.
Another thing I want to is when I start working in the tv industry is to start up a small production company called BH Media & Productions and the reason I will be launching it is so that I can give people who have disabilities and work in the media industry a role within my production company and with the company I want create my own short films and collab with other short filmmakers with their short films as well that is another thing I would like to do once I leave university but I might launch it even earlier.
Conclusion
So this is my five year plan I set up some great career goals and with university and college I think I can juggle all of these if I focus my mind towards them and not get distracted I think I will be able to achieve these targets on time or maybe earlier and I think my career path will benefits towards my future.

Personal Statement –
Personal Statement – Bailey Haggan
I am applying for the this course for several reasons, the first being that it is industry accredited and is recognised by well-known TV companies. In particular, I was impressed that the course offers unique placements with companies like the BBC , ITV and Channel 4 and the university is known for its state of the art TV , Radio and Photography Studios which will be useful. The tutors on the course are experienced within the TV industry and this another reason that I am applying for this chosen course.
The reason why this subject interests me is because I always watch television programmes and I wonder how tv companies manage to write , develop and produce a TV series for viewers at home. I have always wanted to work in the TV industry as it is something that I enjoy watching as a viewer and I would love to be part of the production process of a television show.
The reason why I think I will be suitable for this course is because I have a range of relevant skills, for example, video editing skills with Adobe Premiere Pro for which I use the software to edit my YouTube Videos and Short Films and I also have creative skills in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator for my creative design work. I also made an advert and a podcast. I have learnt these skills and many others during my time at Bradford College studying Creative Media and this why I think I will be suitable for this course.
I am currently in my third and final year of creative media production & technology at Bradford College studying the Level 3 Extended Diploma. I have learnt about Adverts , Podcasts and Broadcasting during my time at Bradford College
I also do creative work in my spare time, for example: Filmmaking Content Creating (YouTube) Social Media (Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat). Graphics Design for Video Games (FIFA , Minecraft, GTA), Watching Film and TV Shows , Shopping , Walking and Collecting Memorabilia.
I recently started a voluntary role with the science and media museum In Bradford as a radio production volunteer where I help produce a monthly radio show called Sound & Vision but other than this voluntary role that I am currently working I do not have any other work experience which is something I would be looking to improve upon.
My future plans for when I leave university after completing my course is to find work in the TV industry at channels like the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, and Channel 5 and work my way up to the top of TV industry with the skills I have learnt at college and university. I also would like to launch my own TV production company and offer people with disabilities work experience within the TV and Film Industry this is what I would like to do once I leave university with the Skills and Qualifications I need to get into the TV industry.
Other Courses
I have also applied for the FDA Film and Media Course at Bradford College as I want to be closer to my family and i am familiar with the teachers at Bradford college as i have studied media for the last three years.
