Line Of Action

Line of Action otherwise known as 180 degree rule is a rule applied in the World of Photography. It is a important element in a style of film which is called Continuity editing. It is not always used by filmmakers purposely to create disorientation. It is switching the camera a 180 degree to see the other side in a semi circle sort of way. It is used nearly all the time and used in a 3 point way. It uses 3 cameras at a both end and one wide range in the middle. The Line of action is used in between performers and not behind there heads.

 The Great Train Robbery (1903)

             Scene one:

I would improve the first scene of The Great Train Robbery by adding the Line Of Action rule and use the Two-Shot in between the middle character and the ones on the left with a camera on the corner where one is already being used. For the right one i would use a Medium Close Up shot on the end of the room. Then for the middle camera I would use a Wide Shot for the full show of what is going on. It would be in this  position because the scene has a lot of moving around and talks in two separate areas.
