I used my animals silhouettes I have drawn and added them to some photos a took of my local forest. I like how the photo brings the silhouettes to life and I like the how they blend in with subtle colours of the woods. I love creating this type of mixed media as I love the effect the detailed background gives. I would like to try this technique with more colourful and lively photos. I think the contrast between the black of the silhouettes and the colours will make them stand out more bringing your attention to them. I used perspective to accurately represent the size of the different animals, the animals being in the forefront are the smallest animal and the back the largest in the image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I like the silhouettes on the photos but they tend to blend in to the background a bit, the photo taking to the focus rather than my drawings. The silhouettes stand out more on the colourful photo than the one of the woods. These silhouettes were inspired by Kara Walker I like how mysterious they look. They look like shadows on the photos. I placed the smallest animals near the front and the biggest to the back of the photo so that their size would be accurate to real life. I like the size of the animals being realistic because the animals silhouettes are realistic so the size should be too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I experimented with placing my origami animals on photo and I really like the end result. My favourite piece is the sunset one as the blue animals stand out against the orange of the sunset the two colours complimenting each other. I do like the trees with leaves in the other photo as it visually represent nature better to me because when I think of nature I think of green trees with animals roaming around and colourful flowers. I wish I took this photo at a better angle so you can see the tulips in the background better. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
