These photos were created by two girls Frances Griffiths (age 10) and Elsie Wright (age 15) by cutting out drawings Elsie had made attached to the ground and branches using hatpins. I was told the story of the cottingley fairies as I live near there and because I was considering drawing fairies as part of my project after researching it I am now even more inspired to do it. I am surprised that two children were able to get away with this for so long outsmarting professionals. They were able to convince a lot of people while professional were sceptical they were unable to prove they were fake.
