The cottingley fairies

The cottingley fairies are based fake set of photos which were believed to be real for 60 years because no one could debunk it. These photos were created by two girls Frances Griffiths (age 10) and Elsie Wright (age 15) by cutting out drawings Elsie had made attached to the ground and branches using hatpins. I was told the story of the cottingley fairies as I live near there and because I was considering drawing fairies as part of my project after researching it I am now even more inspired to do it. I am going to take some photos using the same method as I like how it brings their drawings to life.

This research on the cottingley fairies might upset people because they lied to the press for over 60 years. I am surprised that two children were able to get away with this for so long outsmarting professionals. They were able to convince a lot of people while professional were sceptical they were unable to prove they were fake. The cottingley fairies also link to Marie curie because it is local to Bradford.
