These drawings are inspired by the pub art I found it also links to Kara Walker with silhouettes. I like how this brings attention to the silhouettes more while also not taking away from the forest photo.
I created these artworks by inserting the image into procreate and transforming it so that it fit them canvas. Then I created a new layer and filled it in with black. Then I drew the animals in procreate and the coping the image to use as a guide for the negative. The I erased the animal from the black layer so you could see the forest photo behind it.
I love how these turned I think I will do this as my final piece. I prefer the photo with the green trees as that how I imagine nature compared to the bare tree in the other piece. My favourite piece is the fairy one as I love the contrast of the bright green trees and the black background. I also love the opacity of the fairy’s wings, i like how you can partially see through them like you would be able to do with an insects wings.
