I created this by drawing the area to cut out then adding the animal. After I cut out of a decorative paper to make it look nicer, I used blue paper for this because I was using up the last of it rather than wasting some green paper. I also kept the cut outs and stuck them recycled paper. Then I cut out all of the layers using a craft knife. Then I used draft excluder (foam tape) to create the 3D effect and stack the layers. I created this as I wanted to further develop my skills. I like how the shadows show the depth as it makes it look like I am creating a scene rather than a flat piece. Next time I create another piece like this I’ll make sure that you can’t see the foam tape. The blue give the image a peaceful and calming feeling the flying bird also contributes to this feeling. This art was inspired by Ceres Lua. I like accuracy of composition, the size of the animal being realistic due to the perspective and depth of my piece.
