Ash worked on the scripts for both the new and previous show. However for the previous shows script, Jake and I rewrote and added a few talking points. For this show, ‘The Last Minute Show’, we collaborated in a similar way, however Ash, added to the suggestions Jake and I provided. We added own videos as we were had to make do with being the guests.
Sourcing guests was a collective responsibility, as well as sourcing a presenter from the performing arts course. However, we all struggled to find anyone that was free. I messaged Mohammed Saeed and Maya Bhikha, the hosts for the previous show. Unfortunately they were both busy for both the rehearsal day and the recording dates.

Communication between Tutor
John Dey, our Tutor, was our liaison, helping us to communicate with Central Media to help us book the TV studio out and for the requested additional time. We all communicated using Microsoft Teams, as seen below.

In person collaboration – 21/02/2024
On the 21st of February, Jake and I were the first two in the TV Studio. We set up the lights and moved the desk, following the floorplan. Our initial placements for the lights worked well to achieve a cleaner more eye pleasing and professional greenscreen, when we initially used the greenscreen curtain.
Unfortunately using the greenscreen curtain was challenging as we couldn’t straighten the curtain enough to remove the harsh dark spots; a result of the ceiling spot lights. In place of the curtains Jake decided to try look for any alternatives, moving the larger black curtain, we found the two foldable greenscreen boards.
We had some trouble with the greenscreen boards, as they are two separate foldout boards we had to place them side by side. However, this left us with a very noticeable seamline down the middle of the background. After some tinkering with both the position and intensity of the extra lights we managed to create a product that appeared to have a much higher production value than reality.

13/03/2003– Final day
I began setting up the TV studio’s tables and chairs at around 9:25am, as planned out in the floor plan. At 10am Jake arrived, and we moved on to setting up the cameras and lighting, and moving the greenscreen boards in place. As we were moving the greenscreen in place we ran into a minor issue, with the desk reflecting the light off itself.
Jake and I decided to cover the desk with a black piece of fabric to help remove that light bounce. Doing so made it easier to achieve the illusion of having a higher looking production value; without covering the table. When using the greenscreen and chroma keying it out, the background image would reflect onto the bright spots on the desk and create a lot of distracting noise and fuzz.
This being the final day of practice and the day of the broadcast, we unfortunately couldn’t manage to find a host and a guest. We had to modify the idea slightly to fit the changes we made.
Ash took the place of the host, and in place of the guests we had Jake and I fill in. Ash interviewed both myself and Jake. Both interviews stayed faithful to the script.
