Studio Session

During this studio session, I felt really sick so I barely did some work so Tom has done most of the work during this project. I helped him set up the mics for the vocalist and the overheads. We had a problem with bass so we had to move the bass player next to the vocalist because the amp wasn’t working. We also tried switching up the channels also tried changing the cables but there wasn’t any sound that’s why we moved the bass player next to the singer. Another problem we had was that the guitar wasn’t tuned and it kept making weird noises during the song. However, to solve this we turned the guitar but also overdubbed the guitar after. This created a much better sound for the song. Also, the singer was sick too so he didn’t record his vocals in. It was very difficult for them to record without the singer so we decided to record with the singer but then overdub his vocals when he will feel better. Another problem we had was the snare mic falling off so we had to go and fix that too. However, we still worked as a team even though Tom was the leader of this session I still knew what’s going on and I helped him with setting up and packing everything down.

To improve this I would try to do more work and also work by the mixing desk. However from the artist’s view what  I would do for the vocals is to add harmonies and maybe try to change the key of the song higher at the last chorus to make it more interesting
