Recording throughout time

1877- Phonograph cylinder =Thomas Edison. The phonograph cylinder was made out of tin foil and wax.

1902=vinyls -Emile Berliner =they were easier to mass-produce than cylinder.

William Lear=1960

Magnetic tape and plastic. The tape consists of an endless loop of standard 1/4 inch magnetic tape in the outer plastic cortege. There can be only 8 soundtracks on every track.

1963= Philips. Cassettes were helpful because people were now able to listen to music while being outside this was because they had walkmans that were provided for cassettes to be stored in just like a Spotify on our phones. However, the cassettes only played what was recorded on them and u could record on both sides of the cassette.

1980=CD -Sony/ Phillips

these were more useful as you could record the whole album on it and everything was there because CD’s had much more space as the cassettes and people started to record not only music but also movies on them, some people still buy them however now we have much more developed technology so we don’t really need CD’s to listen to music.

Digital=1991-Mp3 Phillips Electronics in 1994 Mp3 began to spread around the internet many people started to downland music from the internet.

1999- Napster=Sean Parker allowed to easier shape their Mp3’s.

2007-Will Giaser = this service plays musical selections similar to the user of the song played.

2011-Icloud= Apple =This service allows users to downland their music and pair on multiple devices.

To improve on my presentation I need to find out more about different streams and maybe add some more examples.
