In graphics, our task was to design some artwork that can be used for our songwriting composition. The title of our song is ‘Snake Eyes’, playing with metaphors around a dice.
Going with the theme of the song title ‘Snake Eyes’, I liked the idea of having a snake x-ray, with dice visible inside. As a quick mock up, I found a picture of a snake x-ray and a dice online, cut them out and stuck them together. I also like the look of text that appears to have been ripped out of a magazine. Therefore, I found a font I like on word and printed off the letters needed for the title, ripped them up and stuck them onto the image.
I then found an x-ray of a snake which was much clearer and therefore easier to work with. Along with some help from Paul, we used the dice which we initially used to begin writing our song about and took some photos of it which could then be incorporated into the artwork. We uploaded all of the images into photoshop, and began layering them together until the die looked more x-rayed than a solid object.
After scanning in the mock-up artwork concept, we were able to take out the title and add it onto the artwork. We resized it and contrasted the colours.
Below is the final product of my ‘Snake Eyes’ artwork concept.
