| Section 1: Rationale (approx. 100 words) |
| In previous projects, I have obtained skills in live performance, songwriting and composing, as well as skills in the studio. While I enjoyed performing, I would like to focus on both songwriting and recording/mixing for this project. I had no experience in songwriting, nor had I ever been in or worked within a studio before starting the course, and I have thoroughly enjoyed learning how to mic up equipment, and work around DAWs. Therefore, I would like to continue to build upon my skills and delve deeper into this area of the industry. |
| Section 2: Project Concept (approx. 200 words) |
| I aim to write and produce a piece of music in the acoustic pop genre, with the instrumentation including piano, guitar, bass and drums, all accompanied by vocals. I would like to record all of the instrumentation into Logic through audio. Since recording and mixing is pretty new to me, I would like to improve my skills within these sectors through composing a piece. I would need a couple of sessions in the studio to complete this, as well as all of the equipment (guitar, piano, drums, bass, cables, amps and mics), as well as an audio interface and Logic. To debut my piece, I plan on creating an audio visualiser to showcase to a captive audience. |
| Section 3: Evaluation (approx. 50 words) |
| I intend on evaluating my work at the end of each week. At the end of the week I will look back at what I have managed to achieve and what my strengths and weaknesses were. I can then utilise these to make an action plan for the following wee, so I am staying consistent at reflecting throughout the project, while ensuring that I improve each week. |
