Presentation

Independence-why? Because I will need to research how to do everything myself and therefore by the end of the project I will have a better understanding on how to write, record and mix songs. This will hopefully prepare me to start working at more of a professional standard throughout the project and in the future.
I aim to target my track towards people around my age group and those who consume similar music to me.
I want to create something that I would choose to listen to, and something that could possibly be heard on the local radio.
There is a lot I still don’t know about the music industry. Although I listen to music daily, I haven’t really gone into depth with how the music is being distributed, and I don’t usually put too much thought into what process artists and musicians have to go through in order to get their music heard. It is something I would like to learn more about, not only because it is interesting to know where the music I listen to is coming from , but it is important to understand the industry I would like to be working within.

Evaluation

I think I spoke a lot louder during this presentation than I di with my initial idea.

One thing that went well is that I explained most of my ideas in a good amount of detail and also quite confidently. I covered most topics I needed to include within the proposal, and put together a small plan of what I wanted to be doing each week. Instead of just saying what research etc. I wanted to do, I gave reasons why it was important and how it fit into my project, and I believe this was one of the strongest points within the presentation.

One thing I do need to work on is my actual presentation and body language. I rarely (if at all) spoke directly to my classmates and John, and spent most of my time when presenting looking at my slides or reading off of my phone. In any future presentations, I could work on delivering them in more of a professional way, and engaging with my classmates and tutors more often throughout the presentation.

I will take all feedback from my peers and tutors on board for my final project.
