I enjoyed this composition because of how the dynamics change throughout. The song begins a bit quieter, but when it comes to the chorus it becomes much louder. I find the chorus of this song quite interesting, usually the dynamics within a chorus will change and then stay the same until the next verse. However, here the dynamics change throughout the chorus; on one sentence it is much louder, but then it is quiet on the next one.
Instruments within this piece include; piano, keyboard, guitar, synth and drums. The texture of the piece builds throughout. It starts off with just guitar, then some drums are added at the beginning of the verse. At the beginning of the chorus, the synth and keyboard is heard, then half way through the guitar, keyboard and drums drop out, and piano is added. The harmony within this song is created by both vocals and synth, which both add a lot of texture. It appears within the chorus’ throughout and builds up within each one.
The melody within this composition is created by vocals. They verse is quite simple as it only uses two different notes. However, the melody of the chorus is a little bit more complex, as it uses a variety of notes, but it still remains memorable.
Structure: Intro, Verse 1, Pre-Chorus, Chorus, Verse 2, Pre-Chorus, Chorus x2, Pre-Chorus x2, Chorus x2. The song does have a set structure and is quite repetitive, but that is what helps it stay memorable and catchy
