For this project we had to choose a monologue and I chose Battle Royal by Nick Stafford, I chose this monologue because it looked interesting and I think it can help build my confidence and it looked easy for my to process the lines by heart. It is set in the eighteenth century and it is based on a marriage of the Prince Wales to Princess Caroline.
England was at war with France, women are seen but are not heard, and the prince Ragent, a man with ‘an underserved reputation for enjoying the amusements of his position whilst not embracing duties’, is under pressure to marry and produce and heir.
I have used my research effectively by developing my character and finding relevant information about Battle Royal and about the author but there was some information that I couldn’t find out about the play.
For the audition I had to learn my monologue by heart, when it was the audio day I had to perform it in front of Lisa and Sara and I managed to remember my lines. The thing that helped me to remember my lines is that I highlighted the lines I didn’t know how to pronounce and researched the meaning and how to say it.
For this part of the project we worked with the media students to create a film a based on hate crime and homophobia, it shows awareness of this issue, overview of the film is that there’s a girl called Annie and she is a lesbian woman who struggles with hate crime on the streets and struggles to find her place in the world, she only has one friend who doesn’t know until she is a target of hate crime, and the campaign of hate crime rights. The genre is social realism, the reason my group is doing this is because hate crime hasn’t had enough support and people need to know this issue, the film conveys the socio- political ways of the working class. This film will show how the community does against homophobia and bullying.
The location is in a park, canteen and green room, the props will be fake blood bag filled with fake blood, coat rack and staff lanyard, the music will be a happy and sad tune ad the equipment we needed was a camera and microphone. The budget will be £35.00 for props excluding the travel costs and the actors/ actresses will be picked by the team to see who fits the role properly.
This is the link to the Film.

This Is the Love and Hate script.

Tak 1:
I have achieved my bronze, silver and gold DofE which made me feel proud of myself as I overcame some of my fears.
I have done the bleep test with police cadets and that made me feel good because I didn’t stop and carried on even though it was tiring.
In 2016 I won a singing competition at school.
I am a great communicator, I can present my ideas well in-person, in writing and through social media.
I’ve worked hard to sharpen those skills because I feel that the value of a great idea is lost if I can’t present it in a way that others can understand.
I have received lots of awards from police cadets e.g. attestation.
I received a medal from mosque by memorising the whole Quran.
With police cadets I have been out with them volunteering e.g. helping the community by picking up litter and helping out at events.
I have helped my dad by buying bread, milk and eggs and helping my dad take them to the hospital.

I have also been on a trip to St Gorges hall and it was interesting because we learnt about the history of Charles Dickins plays e.g. Christmas Carol and got to have a tour around the building, we got to play a game on the stage and I enjoyed it, I have dreamt of having a career in acting as I am passionate and enjoy it. I bake and sing at home because it helps with my confidence and it is a good skill to have, I am kind, helpful, caring, talented and quite. I love wearing costumes as it gets me into the character and acting makes me feel proud of myself because I feel like I have accomplished my dream and achieving my goals, my tutors have been really supportive and if I struggle I know to go to them because they understand but I try to be independent. I love listening to Adele and pop songs because it makes me happy.
What we do?
We was given a monologue to learn for out audition and it went brilliant because I remembered my lines and used a prop (small photo)and I portrayed my character very well by staying in my characters voice.
What went well and why?
What went well for me is that I used eye contact and improvised when I forgot some lines.
What didn’t go well and why?
What didn’t go well is my projection as I sounded nervous.
what did you gain from this activity?
I gained my improvisation skills and eye contact.
What would you do differently next time?
Next time I will work on is my projection and be more confidence and believing in myself and others in my class.
