We did it as a class in under 45 minutes, choosing things at random to create a catchy song. For the lyrics, we used sentences from an article about composing songs. We chose an element of music to start with out of the 3 main ones (rhythm, melody and harmony). Then we picked a time signature and a key signature before choosing which scale and chords we would be using. Finally, we created a rhythm by starting with 4 bars of quavers and changing these quavers to create this.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IC60zAyl_-Q?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This short composition was created by Michael and I. We wrote it in the key of G major using the G major scale. The chords we used were G (chord 1), Am (chord 2), C (chord 4) and D (chord 5).
