I began publicly promoting the event on 29th March 2022, with a post and story of the poster for the event. I used an old Instagram account that I had previously used to post other music-related content because it was inactive but already had a small following of around 80 people. The first post reached around 107 non-followers of my Instagram page and generated 13 likes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the period of March 29th to April 30th, I generated a 12,500% increase in accounts reached. A 10,666% increase from February and March. This came to a total of 378 accounts visiting my profile, 323 of which were not already following the account. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My most successful form of promotion seemed to be the posts as they reached 252 people as opposed to stories, reels, and IGTV hat only reached between 70 and 170 people. The most engagement recieved of all the posts was the poster at 146 views. I believe the success of these posts was due to the use of hashtags. Out of all of the impressions the poster post made, in particular, the hashtags made the most at 74 out of 185. It also generated 10 profile visits from my followers to help them learn more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One improvement I could have made during my promotion process is posting more frequently and using more than just Social Media and word of mouth. If I had had more time, I would have printed off leaflets and posters to distribute in Bradford and in the college. I could also have visited other classes in the college to let them know about the event. However, a positive decision I made was to get in contact with Tom O’Neil and Sinead Campbell. These two people are popular both in the Bradford Music Scene and in the promotion industry too. Tom organizes and promotes events in the area and Sinead is the Music Instigator at Bradford Producing Hub. Contacting them allowed me to get the word out to other people that my account would not have reached on its own and I will definitely repeat this action in future events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
