Sibelius Practice

Sibelius Score example 1

This first score is made up of 4 instruments: piano, violin 1 and 2, viola and cello. It is written in the key of F major and I know this because it has one flat in its key signature. The piano plays chords in the left hand and arpeggiated chords in the right hand, whilst the strings play one note of each chord shared across each instrument. The tempo is 100bpm which is andante or walking pace, a tempo which is commonly used.

Whilst creating this score, I learned more about how to use Sibelius than I was first aware of from past experience in using the software. I now know how to input the notes in various ways. For example, by using a MIDI keyboard, recording in audio or typing on the computer’s keyboard using the keys A-G and the number pad. I also know how to add instrument names and add new bars using command and B. I also know that by using the arrow keys, you can move notes up and down the stave or change octaves by using command and up or down.
