Branding and logos are important but the artist’s image is also integral to the way that the audience perceives you and your music. Kate Sharp explains that personal branding photography can “show your personality”, “build trust and creditability”, create a “connection” (with your audience) and that they are important “first impressions” (Sharp, 2020).

The photos above fit my branding because I chose to wear pastel blue and white with black boots that pop out. I liked that the background used a bright orange to compliment the colour of my skirt. However, due to its brightness, it clashes with my hair colour. This is something that I could ask an editor to rectify, in addition to the removal of unwanted things in the background. There are a lot of poses in these photos that feel awkward or unnatural to me. So during the editing process, I will narrow down the selection to a few that I prefer.

This group of photos are my favourite, so I decided to have them edited. First of all, the brighter background makes me and my outfit pop out much more without clashing with my hair. I also had some touch-ups on my skin, making me look less washed-out and clearer.
I find that these poses in particular are quite fun and playful. This is reflective of the personality I want to link with my brand. It is important to have photos like these within your brand because putting a face to a name builds trust, “People relate to faces” and “brands that have faces will stand out, stand apart, and be remembered.” (Traci, 2021)
