  12. Kabeer – 3 mins
  13. Alfie and the Bottle Heads – approx. 7 mins
  14. Outro – 5 mins or less (Niall)

This draft is okay because it includes everyone’s projects but it cannot be used as a final order because there is still uncertainty about various people’s projects being used. I will improve this by talking to the students whose projects are still up in the air to discuss their presentation. After this, I will redraft the running order and ask for feedback.

Draft 2:

In the above running order, I decided to make it so that we alternated between types of acts (acoustic – non-performer – acoustic – group). This spread the various act types quite well but we still ended up with 2 producers together (Josh and Niall). Nic and I attempted to rearrange this, realising that my format was incorrect so in the next draft I will rethink the format and avoid putting producers or acoustic performers together.

Draft 3:

1- Meg
2- Isaac
3- Barbora pt1
4- matfg
5- Faith
6- Tia
7- Lucy
8- podcast
9- Kabeer
10- Josh
11- Barbora pt2
12- Ellis
13- Lucy and Meg
14- Alfie and the Bottle Heads
15- Niall
16- Abi

Although this layout has improved, we have still ended up with 2 production students next to each other right at the end. We do not want this to happen, and we want to end strongly with a performance because although unfortunate, most of our viewers will only be interested in that. As well as this, Nic and I would like to start off with some original music. In my next draft I will start off with something original to set the tone of our showcase and really say “this is our hard work” to our audience. We have noticed that having non-performers together is a given so we will try make it better by having a production project and the podcast/radio show group together.

Final Draft:

1- Barbora pt1
2- Isaac
3- Meg
4 – Abi
5 – MATFG
5- Ellis
6- Lucy
7- Tia
8- Josh
9 – Podcast
10 – Tom & Kabeer
11- Faith
12- Niall
13 – Barbora pt2
14- Abi
15- Alfie and the Bottle Heads
16 – Lucy and Meg

In our final draft, we managed to start and end very strongly, with fantastic performances and original music. This order was our best so far but I didn’t feel completely confident in acts 7-10 being in the order that they are. This is due to a lack of understanding of Tia’s project, which she has changed recently and because I haven’t worked as closely with the first year students so it is still my understanding that those are three production students in a row. We also moved Faith and Tia away from each other because Faith’s performance includes Tia and we want to have Tia’s project separate and not feel like part of Faith’s as she has worked hard on her own project.

RUNNING ORDER:
  • Animation Intro
  • Student intro (Hi in different languages, welcome to showcase)
  • B roll montage
  • Nic’s intro
  • 1- Barbora pt1 (two songs)
  • 2- Abi (one song – animation)
    3- Meg (one song)
  • 4 – Niall (one song – animation)
  • 5 – Millie and the floor gang (two songs)
  • 6- Ellis (one video song)
  • 7- Lucy (two songs)
  • 8- Tia (one song)
  • 9- Isaac (video game music)
  • 10 – Barbora pt2 (two songs)
  • 11 – Podcast (interview only)
  • 12- Faith (Two songs)
  • 13- Josh/’Levels’ (one song – animation)
  • 14 – Tom & Kabeer (Tom’s interview, Kabeer’s interview, Kabeer performance)
  • 15- Alfie and the Bottle Heads (two songs)
  • 16 – Lucy and Meg (3 songs)
  • Carys’ outro
  • CREDITS (Abi’s second song as audio approx 2 mins)

Above is the final order to be used in the first edit of the showcase. It includes the full order including introduction and outro. It starts off very strongly on both the performance and production fronts and finally manages to separate all production projects. We also finish on a high with strong singers and more original music. I am very happy with this final version now. If we need to change the order going forward, it will be because it does not sit right visually.

I have also linked to the PDF of our credits. In these, we gave everyone the credit that they deserve, including staff members at the college, presenters from BCB radio and even individuals from Bradford Music Network and Bradford Producing Hub who were involved with any element of the showcase.
