First Draft:
16th April – audio recordings
19th April – photo shoot
30th April – video recordings
21st May – final edits
28th May – showcase
This schedule is definitely not good enough. It is too basic and does not factor in the time it will take for certain tasks to be completed or various deadlines that need to be reached. For my next draft, I will start to think about this and write some notes for the ideas I have.
Second Draft:
16th April – audio recordings (talk to Lewis + Lex)
I need to split the 2 bands from the 4-6 soloists when recording them because it will be too time-consuming to attempt to record the at once due to the lengths of each set. Bands record (10/11th May).
20th April – photo shoot (contact photographer – Anna)
30th April – video recordings (confirm with Zaid – editing and recording?)
This could be pushed back no later than 14th May so that the bands are given more rehearsal time. It is possibly best to use a Monday as both year groups are in on one half of the day, which means we can record the bands as one in the morning (MATFG) and another in the afternoon (TOJ).
21st May – final edits
28th May – showcase (Discuss where we will screen for students – Cinema?)
This is a vague improvement on the first draft because it involves the people who we will need to contact and location ideas that we will need to book. For the next draft I will need to confirm these elements and finalise dates for each event.
Third Draft:
16th April – audio recordings
Bands recorded (10th May by Tom and Lewis) – Control Room. Soloists recorded (6/7th May By Lex) – Lex’s studio?
20th April – photo shoot (contact photographer – Anna)
5th May – Interviews to be carried out in the afternoon (DHB TV Studio)
14th May – video recordings
Week commencing 10th May to film soloists. This will be in Green Room, Café or Art Gallery. 14th May for bands in B25/B41. Performance edits complete by 21st May.
21st May – final edits to be completed by 27th May
28th May – showcase (Premiere in Bronte Lecture Theatre)
I now have a schedule of a good standard but there are still some uncertainties. I need to find out from Lex if he can record in College or at his studio. I then need to think about time scales for the photoshoot, interviews and create individual schedules for these. Finally, I will need to rearrange the order as some dates have changed (e.g. the audio recordings). I have also noticed that we need to tell the students when the final hand-in date is for video submissions so that the showcase is completed on time.
Fourth Draft:
20th April – Photo Shoot (TBC)
9:00-12:30 AM
4th May – Lighting Test in B25 and the Green Room (Time TBD)
5th May – Interviews
1:30-4:30 PM in TV Studio
6th/7th May – Acoustic Performance Audio Recordings
Done by Lex (Location TBD) All Day
10th May – Band Performance Audio Recordings
Done by Tom and Lewis in the Control Room All Day
11th May – Acoustic Performance Video Recordings
9:30 – 12:30 AM (Green Room) – Zaid
11th May – Band Audio Recordings Extra Time
9:30 – 12:30 AM (Control Room) – Tom and Lewis
11th May – Band Video Recordings
1:30 – 4:30 PM (B25) – Zaid
14th May – Deadline for handing in work to be included in the showcase
28th May – Showcase Premiere in the Bronte Lecture Theatre at 7 PM
The layout of this schedule is more concise and easy to understand. However, there has been a return of uncertainty to times and locations due to not hearing back from Lex and Anna about their roles with us. Once I find out if they are free and where we will be going, I can redo this draft including that information.
Final Draft:
27th April – Photo Shoot – Photography Studio
9:00-12:30 AM
4th May – Lighting Test in B25 and the Green Room (Time)
5th May – Interviews
1:30-4:30 PM in TV Studio
6th/7th May – Acoustic Performance Audio Recordings
Done by Lex (Location) All Day
10th May – Band Performance Audio Recordings
Done by Tom and Lewis in the Control Room All Day
11th May – Acoustic Performance Video Recordings
9:30 – 12:30 AM (Green Room) – Zaid

9:30 – 12:30 AM (Control Room) – Tom and Lewis
11th May – Band Video Recordings

14th May – Deadline for handing in work to be included in the showcase
21st May – Deadline for submitting Digital Space Work
28th May – Showcase Premiere in the Bronte Lecture Theatre at 7 PM
This final draft is almost perfect but it is missing a few elements.

This is the end of my plan. The videographer here has changed. This is because after watching the HE showcase, Nic and I agreed that the quality of the equipment at college that Zaid would be using is not good enough. So, we decided to hire Barney Shortman, who is a professional videographer. He agreed to film and edit our showcase for us, which will save us plenty of time and will ensure the highest possible professional standard we can get.
