History of recording

Vinyl:

It was invented by Thomas Edison in 1877 in a form of  phonograpgh which Edison later modified and turned it into a vinyl. It was the first of its kind, that could be recorded and reproduced. It was first commercially available in the 1930.

Cassette tape:

The cassette was in 1962 and it was a huge competition for vinyl. It was portable, it could rewind, fast forward, pause and play with a button. It had about 30-45 minutes of content on each side.

CD:

the CD was developed in 1974 by Phillips. It marked a huge milestone in music production and representing. It outnumbered the vinyl in 1988 for the very first time. From 1988- 1991 the vinyl sales took a huge hit.

MP3 & Streaming:

In 1977 the first successful mp3 was invented by Karlheinz Brandenburg. It standsfor MPEG Audio Layer III. It was portable and the easiest way to listen to music on the g0. Later some music streaming apps were invented which allowed us to basically turn our phones into an mp3 like Itunes, spotify, Deezer, youtube music etc.
