planning and production

at the start of the project I didn’t really know on how to start the project as I had a idea but I had little to know idea on how to plan the game and what should be done first and what should be prioritises

the image above show what planing i did to created the game the red zone represent the time of the week that is generating ideas for my final project the orange zone is the research area and i but this as for 3 and a half weeks as i believe that this area i struggle with the most the blue zone os development as i believe this is enough time to complete the task and final is for another 3 and a half week to finish up and ends to the project

with this i am able to see what week it is and when i should start the task

afterward I was introduce to the website “hacknplan” which I was told by Jake that it was a website that is mostly uses by game developers

hacknplan was the website i was using to plan the sub task of the games project and with that website created a new project name popup game as we can see from the image above

then afterwards i then started to created the task and made a couple of thing that where need to be done

these are some of the task i i have decided on and what need to be done and i put them in categories what i believe is that task is best suited at

with this i am able to mark with the start date to the task and the due date as well and in importance i can level the task by how important the task is and i can send message to myself by email as a reminder to get the work done

there are different stages of development and there are 4 sections and there are planned, in progress, testing and complete

and i put the task in one of these section depending on the stage of the work that the task is on

with this i can keep track of the work and see what stage in work piece is

other all though i didn’t stick to the plan as much as i like as some part went ahead of time but others need more time

the one that took more time was graphic and scripting and for the graphic i would like to my own graphic on the land mark and i believe that it would only take 1 day but in reality it took more then 3 days as i keep making mistake and for the scripting i lost the first BP (blueprint) which have the first scripting that i had but afterwards when recreating the scribing i made sure that i don’t lose it again and lost more time

and then there was other task that i though that would take long like the final making of the game i though that it would take the a week most time but in reality that took only 2 days

then there was some that was completely cut and because of time and that was the voice over as i thought that it i would had enough time but other task took more time then estimated plan

while in the making of the game i still had to still do some planing as it will be easy to organise the important pieces in unreal engine

as we can see with the image above we can see 3 folders label BP (blueprint), mat and tex

in the tex folder we input the texture of the image as a PNG or JPEG so that it can be use in the game

in the mat folder i created mat and put on the texture of the image that was needed

and with the BP i replace the plain mat with the mat of the image that i need

over all there was over 40 BP, mat and tex

after i done the drawing i sort the image out and i created two folders as we can see above and the name are PNG and PNG colour and as i did the drawing on put the image in the PNG file and after I colour the image in put the PNG in the colour files so that way i have two copy and incase i lose one i got a back up
