our rehearsals were productive sometimes, however sometimes they were not. We seemed to sidetrack quite a bit, certain individuals within the ensemble would often talk and play over each other instead of trying to listen to ideas or constructive criticism. This often resulted in our band not knowing certain parts for some of the songs and we ended up having to ask our tutor to help us learn a few things.

I found the project boring in all honesty, only because I don’t really enjoy listening to or playing Reggae music. I feel like my band did not take the project very seriously due to the fact that we took so long to get everything organised. I don’t feel like my band enjoyed it either because there was no energy or atmosphere whatsoever. On a personal level I feel like I played well. I had learned all my parts for each song in time so it was very frustrating when in between songs during practice, members of the band were talking over each other instead of talking about the actual music and what we could do to further improve our craft.

I feel like the performance did go well because by that time everyone had luckily managed to learn their parts. We played each song correctly and not many mistakes were made whatsoever. The only thing I feel could have been improved was the actual bands we were tributing. I think both Bob Marley and Queen are generally outcompeted by more modern, popular music. Maybe tributing artists from the 1990’s to current day would have been a better option because the audience literally consisted of college students. All of which i would have guessed were born after 1990, this is why i would have changed the tribute acts. Purely due to how appealing each act was to an audience with an age range of 17 – 24 years olds.
