Due to time restraints, I wasn’t able to complete as much digital promotion as I would have liked. However, down below is some of what the digital promotion team accomplished for the performance.
Above is a poster designed to promote the concert and give information to the audience about who will be performing, and where the event will be held. We even included a QR code which would take you to Eventbrite so you could get tickets for the gig. This was a good idea because if someone saw the poster and wanted to go, they could get the tickets straight away from the QR code which means they wouldn’t forget and wouldn’t have an excuse not to get them.
Above is a screenshot of the Facebook page created to inform our audience of the gig. Our target audience was family and friends so we encouraged all of the acts to share this event on their private accounts to let their close friends and family know.
One strength of my role was the facebook event. This was a good promotional tool because it can be easily shared and distributed online. As we wanted our acts friends and families to come this was a good idea as they will most likely be on Facebook and therefore most likely see it. Another strength was the creation of the poster. It is a visually pleasing poster to look at, it is simple, well put together and informative. An especially good feature of the poster is the QR code which links the viewer straight to the ticket website.
A weakness of my role was not getting on enough social media accounts. This affected us as not as many people knew about the gig because we just focused solely on Facebook. This could be corrected by allocating more time to set up different social media accounts for the gig such as Instagram and Twitter. These are very good promotional websites and with better time management skills we could branch out into these and therefore have a more successful digital promotion campaign.
