As a band, we have been going for just over a year. Last year as our final project we attempted to record a DIY four-track EP using the college facilities. because of these factors, we already have a handful of songs and enough for a live setlist of original songs. We have been planning for this project since January and have had a lot of rehearsals and songwriting sessions in that time in preparation for our project. Due to this, our two-track EP is almost fully written. We have had the song Bad Habit written for a while and even recorded a demo track to aid the students in the year below to help with their studio recording project. Smackhead is almost finished, there are just some things that we need to sort for the song, such as definite tempos, and the flow of the song. All of our practices have involved playing these two songs to get them perfect. We have also played Bad Habit live a number of times and our peers have always seemed to enjoy it. We also have had a number of open practices, where we invite friends along to listen to the EP live and give their feedback on the songs and help us change things that we aren’t happy with. This has proved to be a tremendous help as we sometimes tend to get stuck in our ways during the writing process after we’ve played a song hundreds of times, and having a fresh pair of ears present gives a good perspective and allows us to see what the public would potentially think of the EP.
