My aim for this project is to professionally produce and release an EP that will allow me to expand my fan base and develop as an artist.<\/p>\n
To do this, I will need to meet these objectives:<\/p>\n
1.) Problem solving.<\/p>\n
1.1.) Research copyright laws to ensure I can use samples I may want to use, without breaking the law.<\/p>\n
1.2.) Budget for costs.<\/p>\n
1.3.) Plan for as many different obstacles and problems I may face during the project.<\/p>\n
2.) Promote the EP:<\/p>\n
2.1.) Prepare professional quality promotional material.<\/p>\n
2.1.1.) Collaborate with graphics design students, or professionals, to work on creating a logo for myself as an artist, an EP cover, banners and posters, etc.<\/p>\n
2.2.) Create social media accounts to spread promotional material.<\/p>\n
2.2.1.) Research paid and free promotional techniques.<\/p>\n
2.3.) Release one to two singles from EP.<\/p>\n
3.) Plan the EP.<\/p>\n
3.1.) Decide on genre, number of tracks, EP and track titles, etc.<\/p>\n
3.2.) Find collaborators.<\/p>\n
3.3.) Decide whether or not to use an external mastering service.<\/p>\n
4.) Compose and produce the EP.<\/p>\n
4.1.) Find samples and create synths, linked to EP plan.<\/p>\n
5.) Plan Release.<\/p>\n
5.1.) Decide whether or not to have a release party \/ event.<\/p>\n
5.1.1.) Plan event, speak to venue and event management.<\/p>\n
5.2.) Decide whether or not to have paid or free downloads.<\/p>\n
5.2.1.) Decide whether or not to use distribution companies.<\/p>\n
5.2.2.) Decide whether or not to use produce and distribute CD’s.<\/p>\n
6.) Release and distribute EP.<\/p>\n
7.) Reflect and evaluate the work I have done.<\/p>\n
