This gave me something to base my compositions tempo on. After I found a suitable tempo, I fleshed out the drum part by adding in some faster hi &#8211; hat parts in between the bass drum and a crash cymbal for transitions between sections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-197\" src=\"https:\/\/digitalspace.bradfordcollege.ac.uk\/10579675\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2018\/01\/Screen-shot-2018-01-08-at-10.51.20-300x39.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"531\" height=\"69\" srcset=\"https:\/\/digitalspace.bradfordcollege.ac.uk\/10579675\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2018\/01\/Screen-shot-2018-01-08-at-10.51.20-300x39.png 300w, https:\/\/digitalspace.bradfordcollege.ac.uk\/10579675\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2018\/01\/Screen-shot-2018-01-08-at-10.51.20.png 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 531px) 85vw, 531px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">I then continued to make a bass part, I did this because I felt it was easier to make a bass part than any other part as the bass and drums are always very closely linked. I ended up making a kind of walking bass line using an odd sound. I decided to use a studio straight jazz bass sound, as I felt it fitted my ideas for my composition more. I did this by taking the chord structure I created with the bass part and arpeggiating the chords. All the chords were arpeggiated, apart from the second one which was just a broken chord. The first step in doing this, for me, was to create a new drum beat. This is where I began to create a new chord structure for my second section.
