Repertoire & Set List

Our set list is as follows:

  1. Use Somebody – Kings of Leon
  2. Wish You Were Here – An Original By Leah Collins
  3. Bring Me To Life – Evanescence
  4. Free Falling – Tom Petty
  5. Zombie – The Cranberries

Also, the reason we chose these songs are as follows:

Use Somebody – We chose this song because it’s a popular, well known song that’s easy to learn and would be good to open with as it is a song we’re confident with and found easier to play with an audience. Also, this is the same with all the songs but the easy chord layout allowed us to change all the parts out and give the song our own artistic twist.

Wish You Were Here – We chose this song because it was an original song written by Leah and allowed us to showcase our skills as songwriters. Also, this was another song that was easy to put our own artistic touch on as it had a very similar, easy to work upon, Pop chord structure.

Bring Me To Life – We chose this song because it was known as a very much rhythm based, hard song, and we wanted to play it acoustically. To do this we had to change a lot of different parts to strengthen the melodic and harmonic sides of the song to replace the rhythm and drums that we didn’t have, this gave the song a very unique and memorable sound by the time we had finished with it.

Free Falling – We chose this song simply because it was a great tribute the singer and song writer Tom Petty as it was one his most popular songs and he had died sadly passed away quite recently, so we played an acoustic version of this song in his honour. Also, we played the song acoustically to put our own artistic effect on it and showcase our skills as performers as well.

Zombie – As our final song, we chose Zombie, but instead of playing it acoustically like the rest of our songs, we had Cain play drums for us as it gave the song a more powerful feel, also, we felt more confident with Zombie than some of our other songs, this meant that it was a great song to finish with as it gave our set a more memorable ending.

All of our songs fit our target audience as our target audience would all know most of the songs we chose as they were all Pop, we did this purposefully to make our performance more memorable and enjoyable to our audience.

As a band, we all influenced the songs we chose because we shoes songs we all knew we would enjoy playing together and be able to play together, this meant that all the songs we chose all suited our individual styles and our collective style as a band as well.
