What Went Well?:
We played through each song with minimal mistakes relatively smoothly, this meant that we knew we were ready to perform in the final performance and improved our confidence in the final performance as well.
The transitions between each song were fairly smooth and almost effortless, meaning that if we had an audience, they wouldn’t be waiting around for us to continue on with our next song.
What Could Have Been Improved?:
We all made a few small mistakes whilst performing, mostly because the venue was relatively new to us, however when we got used to the venue we were much more confident and comfortable performing there.
Even though the transitions were relatively smooth, we still believed that, as a band, we could improve upon this by being ready with equipment and making sure that we knew our set list well.
Strengths & Weaknesses:
Strengths
As a band we were comfortable performing together already, which relieved some of our stress whilst performing, allowing us to perform in a better, smoother fashion
We all knew our pieces relatively well which meant that we knew what we were doing and when, this also made us feel much more confident and comfortable performing.
Personally, I knew my pieces well and was definitely ready to play my pieces right, and through transitions between songs, I was fast at preparing myself for the next song.
Weaknesses
As a band, although we were confident in some aspects, we still weren’t fully confident in our own skills, this held us back slightly from playing at our best.
Personally, it was one of my first gigs and I wasn’t feeling very confident on stage yet and I felt as though I had a lot of work still to do and so I felt as though i was less confident than the other members of my band.
My Roles Effectiveness:
Although my role was to complement Sonny and Alex through the lead guitar, I still feel as though i could have played better as I made a few mistakes, like not playing a certain part of Zombie at the right time and playing the wrong chords a few times during I Wish You Were Here, and before the sound check, I had been on quite a low volume and not realised, this meant that I was hard to hear out of the front of house and so I wasn’t performing at my best, although, i felt very confident in the fact that i knew my pieces and helped to spur me on to do well and perform better than i normally would have done.
