Evaluation of Mock Performance

In the lead up to the mock and final performance, we were going to perform the tracks from the EP, however, due to the fact that we had only produced a single that is entirely electronic, we decided to do covers instead, we only had a few days to get ready and prepare the covers once we had decided that we needed to do covers. This meant that we had to rush learning the songs we chose, which meant that we weren’t entirely ready to perform. This meant that we were going to have to work on the issues from the mock performance throughout the next few hours leading up to the performance.

We weren’t fully prepared for the performance, but we knew the songs, and we had practised non stop up until the mock performance. However, during the mock performance, I believe that I could have played much better than I did. For some reason, my nerves got the better of me. We also didn’t practise promoting our EP, which is what the entire purpose of the performance was. This meant that we werent ready when we went to the final performance, which lead to me not promoting the EP when our final performance finished.

Next time I perform in front of a live audience, I will be much more prepared if possible, as planning and preparedness is key when it comes to live performance. I will also use the mock performance to its fullest, practising as much as I can throughout it. Doing this will mean that I can make the most out of my chances to rehearse performing in front of a live audience, meaning that I will be more ready for my final performance.
