Evaluation of Final Performance

In the lead up to the final performance, we were going to perform the tracks from the EP, however, due to the fact that we had only produced a single that is entirely electronic, we decided to do covers instead. We only had a few days to get ready and prepare the covers once we had decided that we needed to do covers. This meant that we had to rush learning the songs we chose, which meant that we weren’t entirely ready to perform. If we had planned better before hand, then we would have been able finish the EP and have our own original songs to perform, which would have also been better for promoting ourselves as well.

We weren’t fully prepared for the performance, but we know the songs, and we had practised non stop up until the performance. The performance itself was good, we only messed up a small number of times and the acoustic versions of the songs we were doing sounded good. The main issue was that I had forgotten to finish off the performance by promoting the EP, which was the entire purpose of the performance. This meant that we had practically had no promotion other than our poster that Lea made and our social media accounts. If we had prepared better, then we would have had an amazing chance to promote the EP and make our project much more successful.

Next time I perform in front of a live audience, I will be much more prepared if possible, as planning and preparedness is key when it comes to live performance. Also, I will make much more use of my mock performances, practising promoting material, and just generally being more prepared and confident in front of a live audience.
